Philippians 2:13 tells us that God is working in us, giving us both the desire and the power to do of His good pleasure. That is a wonderful promise. He does not leave us to do it ourselves. We work out our own salvation with fear and trembling….only because it is God himself who is giving us both the desire and the power to do what He desires us to do. And, this verse also tells us that He does not leave us hanging, giving us only the desire or only the power to do what He desires us to do. He knows that we have to have both. Having the desire only or the power only, would not be sufficient. He, having perfect wisdom as God, gives us everything we need-the desire and the power.
